What are you currently reading? Any Favorites you like to re-read every year or so ?

We sure hope that everyone is having a great weekend!!

I'm just curious to know if any of you have a favorite book that you like to re-read and what makes them so special to you? Is there a particular book that you like to get out and read at a certain time of year?

I do have some books that I know I will read again, someday. But for right now I'm still working on my current to-read mountain!! I don't think it'll stop growing anytime soon, HA!

  1. I do have trusty favorites I come back to again and again. If I want something with a HEA, I return to many of Lisa Kleypas' books again and again. If I'm feeling feisty and in the mood for kick-butt heroines, it's Kresley Cole. If I want spooky, it's Stephen King. As far as a book being tied to the time of year, I almost always re-read The Little Prince around New Years-- it's a lovely reminder to keep your wonder and joy for life.

    1. Ooooh I haven't read any of Lisa's books. Another sneaky reason I wanted to do this - to keep my to- read mountain growing!!!! Hehe. I do have Kresley Cole's books lying in wait on my bookshelf.

I've seen in some movies that in the winter time, mostly, the female will always read a certain book. I think in one it's Wuthering Heights. Some other classics, like Little Women, some Jane Austen books always seem to be great re-reads. =)

  2. I have several books and series that are all time favorites that I re-read every so often. Some of them, it's been awhile now, and I'm feeling their pull - they want me to come back and visit them again. But many of them I don't have access too at the moment, so they'll have to wait. In the meantime, I keep chipping away at Mt. TBR.

    1. Hehe, I can see you digging thru the moving boxes getting to the ones that are reeling you in soon! It's funny how you read a book and it sticks with you so much that as you read more you think about that ONE, until you just don't want to read anything else BUT that it. Happened to me a while back but I'm still trudging on trying to clear that mountain, lol.

    2. Once we move into our new house (sometime in Jan or Feb) I should finally be able to get all of my books out of the boxes they've been in for the last 8-9 years. I should be able to have my big bookcase inside finally and thus have room for them all.

  3. I finally started Styxx today! *squee* :D As far as my rereads I have a few favorite series that are my go to's when I'm in between series, in a slump or just need a good comfort read. Gena Showalter's LoTU series is a multiple reread for me especially The Darkest Night, The Darkest Seduction, and the Darkest Whisper. Kresley Cole's The Demon from the Dark and Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night. Laurann Dohner's Valiant and Justice and a new favorite reread of mine is Jax Garren's Tales of the Underlight series. During the holidays I like to find Christmas themed books if I can while still saying in the PNR genre.

    2. STALKER! Lol :P Hehehe... That's okay, I do the same thing when I'm looking for something new to read. You'll love Jax's Underlight series. the first 3 books are about the same couple and it's based on a Beauty and the Beast theme (which I LOVE) She's working on book 4 now which is set in the same world and it's going to have a Rapunzel theme. I love the whole fairytale vibe she has going for the series. She is also putting out a holiday theme novella about a sexy elf (oh hell yeah)soon. Jax is a sweetheart. I talk to her on Twitter frequently.

Another cutsie Christmas theme PNR series that I found is Sweet Inspiration and Sweet Magik by Penny Watson. It's about Santa's hawt sons! Jeebus, they can climb down my chimney anyday! :D

Yes, the twisted fairy tale theme is very cool. I love when the authors connect with us on Twitter or Facebook and give us those little fan girl moments, hahahaha!!!

I'll let Santa's hot sons climb down my chimney, walk thru the front door, stare at me thru my window any day, LOL!!! Those sound cool, thank you ! :)
