It’s easy to walk away from lies. Power is another thing.

MacKayla Lane would do anything to save the home she loves. A gifted sidhe-seer, she’s already fought and defeated the deadly Sinsar Dubh—an ancient book of terrible evil—yet its hold on her has never been stronger.

When the wall that protected humans from the seductive, insatiable Fae was destroyed on Halloween, long-imprisoned immortals ravaged the planet. Now Dublin is a war zone with factions battling for control. As the city heats up and the ice left by the Hoar Frost King melts, tempers flare, passions run red-hot, and dangerous lines get crossed.

Seelie and Unseelie vie for power against nine ancient immortals who have governed Dublin for millennia; a rival band of sidhe-seers invades the city, determined to claim it for their own; Mac’s former protégé and best friend, Dani “Mega” O’Malley, is now her fierce enemy; and even more urgent, Highland druid Christian MacKeltar has been captured by the Crimson Hag and is being driven deeper into Unseelie madness with each passing day. The only one Mac can depend on is the powerful, dangerous immortal Jericho Barrons, but even their fiery bond is tested by betrayal.

It’s a world where staying alive is a constant struggle, the line between good and evil gets blurred, and every alliance comes at a price. In an epic battle against dark forces, Mac must decide who she can trust, and what her survival is ultimately worth.

5 Book Rating!

You know what really sucks about waiting 2 years and some odd months for a book by your favorite author to come out? Finishing it and wanting MORE! LOL.

I attended the signing event of this book and as I listened to KMM talk about her baby (The Fever Series), you just know that she really does put her EVERYTHING into her books. Blood, sweat, tears, and then some, and a he** of a lot more. I love that about her. She even made sure that we knew and understood that she will NEVER publish anything she is not happy with. She writes what she wants to write, and what makes her happy. And that, is how it should be. She's doing what she loves.

Since I have not had a chance to re-read the Fever Series – trust me, this is something I need to do because I love it – it was everything I remembered it to be. This book brought all of that back to life for me. Reading about Barrons and Mac, and all of the other dozens of characters that Ms. Moning has brought to life for us over the past couple of years, it was just pure awesome and I'm sure I had a goofy smile on my face.

It had laugh-out-loud moments, like when we find something out about Barrons that will ultimately change the way we think about him. Trust me, you'll laugh. ;) There's a lot of game changers that make your eyebrows shoot up to the top of your skull, and the action is like always, flawlessly written.

Back when I read Iced, there was this huge mystery about who Dani will end up with. Christian or Ryodan?! Well, she was 14 in that book, in this book...you'll just have to read it to see what happens to that sweet little full-of-life redhead. I love that little firecracker. I REALLY WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT DANCER!!! Who is this little genius punk?

We get a little more insight with a few members of The elusive 9. Lor is getting hotter and hotter, and I can't wait to read more about Katseo in the next book. It would have been great to have a little more sex in the book, because Barrons is my fictional boyfriend, but I'm not a beggar.

Great book. 5 + stars. Can't wait for more!
