Review by Sky: Just a Little Crush by Tracie Puckett

Just a Little Crush
by Tracie Puckett
Blurb: When a class assignment requires seventeen-year-old Julie to shadow someone on the job, she’s overwhelmed by the decisions she’ll have to make. After all, she has no clue what she wants from life post-graduation. So when her Uncle Charlie, Oakland’s Chief of Police, suggests Julie fulfill her twenty hours of required job shadowing at the local police department, she’s thrilled at his solution. Thinking she’ll spend her days filing paperwork behind a desk, she finds herself quickly agreeing to his proposition. But Julie’s expectations are soon turned upside down when she meets Luke, the young and handsome (albeit somewhat stubborn) officer she’s assigned to shadow on patrol.

With every hour she logs with Luke at the wheel, her feelings stir deeper, and Julie can’t help but wonder if what she’s feeling has developed into more than just a little crush

Looking for a fun, short read for your awesome weekend off from work? I picked this up just while browsing one day, it was a nice little surprise to see how cute of a story it really is.

Maybe you, too, will find that this story is easily relatable, so real, that it might even tug at your heartstrings, even if just a little bit! You’ll definitely get some smiles too. This author has an amazing style of writing that will keep you gripped to the story from page one.
Do YOU remember your first crush?
(For Julie, it's a young, suitable police officer who just may inspire her to be greater than she thought she ever could be =) )
Take a read and see where Memory Lane takes you. =)

It all begins when, Julie --an orphaned high school student living with her uncle and cousin-- is assigned to shadow a job of her choice for 20 hours for a class assignment. Little did she know, it was all set up by her Uncle Charlie, Chief of Police. Oh the joys of living in a small town and the influence their residents can inflict.

She is not happy about this project one bit, and dreads it for many a reasons. (I so don’t want to spoil it, the emotion that the reader feels when we find out, is so raw, so real I couldn't help but make a little pouty face LOL)

Unexpectedly, she gets more than she bargained for out of the situation; a slight crush on this dashing young officer, but also, later finds out the attachment to him had a certain fated destiny... he too holds a dark grudge. Finally, someone for Julie who knows just what grief is who suffers from the same sort of loss.
It’s sweet how they both sort of help each other cope and that it’s okay to move on from the grief in their hearts that make them a bitter person.

Her uncle is one sly man, he knew exactly what he was doing when he suggested the assignment and paired the two up!
I can't wait to finish the series!
Highly recommended, and great for ALL ages!!
