5 Book Rating

I put reading the final chapter of Katy's Heart of Montana Series off long enough. At the same time, I couldn't wait to read this book, but I also didn't want it to end. This is the series that made me fall in love with this author, but, all good things must come to an end.

With this book, this series went out with a bang! I couldn't have asked for a better ending. Ever since the first book, I've been waiting to see how Nils's and Maggie's story would be written, and Ms. Regnery didn't disappoint. Although there were plenty of times I wanted to clock the giant Swede in the head for being so stubborn when it came to letting himself feel what he wanted to feel for Maggie! LOL! I love books that make me talk to them, when I'm so caught up in the story and voice my opinion to it like it can hear me.

Something happened to Nils that made him grow up way before he should have at the tender age of 18 and ever since that traumatic event, he never allowed himself to think that he could find happiness with another woman, let alone to have a family of his own. And then Maggie Campbell came to Gardiner. For 4 years they danced around their friendship, flirting with their eyes, never voicing that either of them had feelings for one another even though everyone around them could see the obvious attraction. But, sometimes all it takes is a lot of liquid courage and what you feel deep inside comes pouring right out of your mouth, which in Maggie's case, happens one night as her best friend – Nils – helps her home from the bar.

The next day as Maggie nurses a whopper of a hangover and Nils tries to wrap his head around what she said to him the night before, they discover that Maggie has let her VISA expire and she's now on borrowed time with the threat of being deported hanging over their heads. So, with Nils being Nils he offers to marry Maggie so she can get her green-card and stay in the states on one condition. That they remain friends, and only friends.

And how I loved watching their friendship turn to much, much more after that!

I really loved this story, and all of the other books that went with this series Katy. I am so sad to see all of the Lindstrom's grow up and carry on, but I can't wait for new readers to discover and love them as much as I did!!!!
