Krystle's Thoughts - You Can Have My Heart, but Don't Touch My Dog (Domestic Equalizers #8) by Dixie Cash - 5 Book Rating!

You Can Have My Heart, but Don't Touch My Dog (The Domestic Equalizers Book 8)

After two divorces, Sandi Walker, entrepreneur extraordinaire, is on her own and loving it. As a devout animal lover, she has made a success of the only gourmet pet food bakery in Midland, Texas. She’s also a pet foster parent and has fifteen assorted abused and unwanted animals at home. When a golden-colored stray dog with an abundance of personality appears at her door, she can’t refuse him and she can’t keep from falling in love with him. She names him Waffle and gives him a permanent home.
General Manager of the Flying C Ranch, Nick Conway, has searched for months for his lost dog, Buster. Giving up on ever finding him, he looks for a new dog and finds a puppy at a pet grooming shop. While he went to the shop to see a puppy, he also encountered a beautiful redheaded woman he can’t put out of his mind. Little does he know that she found Buster in an alley and has now claimed him as her own. Sparks fly between Sandi and Nick when he steals Buster and sues her in court for custody. It will take a mouthy parrot, a sitting judge, the matchmaking skills of the Domestic Equalizers and Cupid himself to resolve this conflict.

5 Book Rating!

This was a very fun book to read, very lighthearted and well-rounded!

The characters were all very witty, with great personalities. The story-line was cute as well, man loses his dog, woman finds his dog and decides to keep him, until said man comes in to town and spots his long lost best friend. Well, now Sandi's simple life takes a detour straight to complicated-ville. But it just goes to show, anyone who loves their pets will ABSOLUTELY go the extra mile and do anything for their furbabies!

Sandi was an adorable character and easy to get along with while I read through the book, and Nick is an all-male, pure-bred cowboy, totally hunk-worthy.

The main characters aunt and her aunts friend were hilarious. I loved them, they reminded me of a few aunts of my own. This author writes their characters extremely relatable. I liked what these two characters brought to the book as a whole, and how they had a side job as being private investigators.

Out of the entire book though, I think my favorite character would have to be Jake..the parrot. LOL, I cracked up at everything that came out of that birds mouth, ha.

This is a book I'd recommend to my friends, thanks!

Dixie Cash is Pamela Cumbie and her sister Jeffery McClanahan. They grew up in West Texas during the great oil boom, an era filled with "real-life fictional" characters who cry to be written about. Pam has always had a zany sense of humor, and Jeffery has always had a dry wit. Surrounded by cowboys and steeped in country-western music, when they can stop laughing long enough, they work together creating hilarity on paper. Both live in Texas - Pam in the Fort Worth/Dallas Metroplex and Jeffery in a small town near Fort Worth.

Krystle's Thoughts - Rusty Nailed by Alice Clayton. 5 HUGE Stars!!! Love this Series!

In this sequel to Wallbanger, the second book in the Cocktail series, fan favorites Caroline and Simon negotiate the rollercoaster of their new relationship while house-sitting in San Francisco.

Playing house was never so much fun—or so confusing. With her boss on her honeymoon, Caroline’s working crazy long hours to keep the interior design company running—especially since she’s also the lead designer for the renovation of a gorgeous old hotel on Sausalito. So with her hotshot photographer boyfriend gallivanting all over the world for his job, she and Simon are heavy-duty into “absence makes the heart grow fonder” mode. Neither has any complaints about the great reunion sex, though! Then Simon decides he’s tired of so much travelling, and he’s suddenly home more. A lot more. And wanting Caroline home more, too. Though their friends’ romantic lives provide plenty of welcome distraction, eventually Caroline and Simon have to sort their relationship out. Neither wants “out of sight, out of mind,” but can they create their own happy mid-ground cliché?

Have I mentioned that I absolutely freaking love this author? Well...it's true. This is the second book of The Cocktail Series and it was just as good as the first. Rusty Nailed had plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, the characters had the same sass as they did in Wallbanger, and Clive, Caroline's awesome feline companion had a sort of bigger role to play which was great.

This book picks up where Wallbanger left off. Simon and Caroline continuing on with their growing relationship, everything is going great, until Caroline's boss gets hitched and takes off on an extended honeymoon; leaving her in charge, and basically no time left to have a life. Meanwhile, something sort of triggers Simon to start taking some time off work, so with him not traveling the globe, he's stuck at a Caroline-less house which sort of turns into a Caroline-less relationship because she's starting to date her work more than Simon!

Needless to say their perfect relationship begins to dwindle leading them down a dark black hole problems. Ahhhhh while I was reading this, I was getting so worked up and frustrated at everything that was going wrong for them, haha. But, I will say that they do get their HEA, and I was VERY satisfied with how Caroline and Simon's story ended. Not to mention, I want their new digs!!! The sex is hot, the humor was great, and it made you feel all the feels a book could wrench out of ya! 5 big stars from me!

ALICE CLAYTON worked in the cosmetics industry for over a decade before picking up a pen (read laptop).
She enjoys gardening but not weeding, baking but not cleaning up, and finally convinced her long-time boyfriend to marry her.
Now, about that Bernese Mountain dog

Laura BarnardMy name is Laura Barnard and I am an author from Hertfordshire, UK. In my spare time I enjoy drinking my body weight in tea, indulging in cupcakes the size of my face, drooling over hunks like Jamie Dornan, Ryan Gosling and Leo Dicaprio...oh and my husband of course! I like wearing yoga clothes and reading fitness magazines while I sit on the sofa and eat chocolate. I'm a real fan of the power nap and of course, READING!

I write not to get rich or famous, but because I LOVE writing. Even if one person tells me they enjoyed my book it makes the midnight typing worth it!
